Forty-one words that open the modern-day crime fiction novel, 'NEEDLES' and launch the reader -- and the audiobook audience, into an elegantly told Vodka and cocaina-infused tale set in the parched, alluring, yet deceptively unforgiving high desert. Forty-one words first penned by Tacoma, Washington author Jeremiah Treacy.
We never anticipated -- never -- that those words would so eloquently yet painfully apply to this moment. Jeremiah passed away unexpectedly in late May, 2024. At the time of his death, his spouse disclosed that he had completed the FIRST FOUR CHAPTERS of Needles - The Sequel. We took those chapters to studio, tapping the same cast (plus three more) to bring the Author's words to life for the ear.
Now we intend to identify and hire the GHOSTWRITER who can listen to NEEDLES and the 4-chapter Sequel, study the Author's style by listening to the audiobook and reading the print version, and prove to us -- a Distributor; a Literary Agent; an Audiobook Producer; and the Author's spouse, that we've found our writer. We're not sure this has ever been done before, i.e., tapping Audible to recruit a Ghostwriter. But that fits with Jeremiah Treacy's storytelling. Truly original.
